The information in this book is interesting and well organized and would help a traveller decide what to do in Gujarat, but......This is clearly a print-on-demand book. On the back page is the information "Made in the USA Nov. 8, 2015." Nowhere else can you figure out in what years Sheila traveled to Gujarat, so you have no idea if her information is timely or perhaps from another era altogether. What really earned the 2 stars is the microscopic size of the print. I have compared the print to the newspaper and other books -- it is really small. Worse yet the map of Gujarat is blurry, small print again and a poor quality reproduction. Most of the photographs aren't much better. I went to Sheila's website hoping I could communicate directly with her to find out how current or dated her information was. Alas, no "Contact Me" link showed up.

This guidebook is one of, or perhaps the best guide book for Gujarat. The state of India is not well touristed by Americans, and therefore it is quite difficult to find a good, candid guidebook on the country given from the western perspective. Sheila gives a true, realistic viewpoint of Gujarat leaving no question as to what one would expect if they traveled through the state. Highly recommend this book for any traveler looking for details on the tribal areas of Gujarat. This information is not easily found, and Sheila does an amazing job with details the why's and what's one would find if they visited each tribal village. Well done, Sheila.
